The inaugural ‘Back on the Beat Cycle Sportive’ will take place on Sunday 14th May.
The Police Treatment Centres is a registered charity providing treatment, support & recuperation for injured and ill police officers and retired officers from northern forces. To raise additional funds a Cycle Sportive has been organised which will see between 150 and 200 riders tackle either a 50km or 99.9km route starting and finishing in Harrogate and taking in the stunning Yorkshire scenery as well as some of the Tour de Yorkshire route.
Riders will be setting off in small groups at intervals from 8am on Sunday 14th May and will be passing through your area. It is anticipated that all riders will have completed their respective routes by early afternoon
Signage will be placed at set points on Saturday and collected after the race on Sunday. All concerned are aware of the need to ensure the ride creates no litter and there will be a route litter check at the end of the day. Local emergency services have been notified and the event is being organised and delivered in accordance with NYCC Event on a Highway and British Cycling non-competitive event guidelines.
